  • [Forum] after upgrading to 4.0.1 quick reply and first and last post prob

    I notice my first and last forum posts in each thread have the text aligned to the left "kinda" and that the quick reply box is missing. I do not know if these two things are related or not.

    It happens with the default style and I do not have any mods installed yet.

    Thanks for any idea's

    I'm not sure about your Quick Reply, as it shows up fine on my site, but for the postbit issue, if you don't use the ads, find this line:
    Code:
    <div class="postrow<vb:if condition="$show['postedited'] || $post['signature']"> has_after_content</vb:if>">
    Change to:
    Code:
    <div class="postrow">
    AND
    Code:
    <div class="content<vb:if condition="$post['isfirstshown'] || $post['islastshown']"> has_ad</vb:if>">
    Change to:
    Code:
    <div class="content">

      thanks for the reply, I tried that and it did not change anything. I do agree that it looks just like there should be an ad or something in those places.

            Thank you very much Lynne, that fixed it.

            Any idea why the quick reply box is missing and how to turn it back on?

              I have no idea. Double check that you have it turned on (vboptions > message posting > quick reply). You say you have tried a default style and have no mods, so that is the only thing I can think of.

                Thanks Again, I was searching for the setting still, I see what happened and now its fixed.

                I don't recall ever seeing a third option there before, maybe the "Click Required" option is new in 4.0.1? or the setting just got changed during the upgrade. Either way I like better like that anyways.

                  Click Required has been around for a while. I know it's in 3.8, but I don't remember about 3.7 or 3.6.

                    Its only the second line if using Postbit, not postbit legacy. Just for those who may be confused... as I was a little at first.

                        There's a lot of white space at the top of the post when editing a post in postbit legacy

                          There's an outstanding bug for that:

                          http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/proje...?issueid=30962

                          There is a suggested fix in there also
                          Vote for:

                          - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
                          -
                          *PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
                          - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
                          - "Quick Route" Interface...
