  • [CMS] HOW TO: 4.0.1 Features

Two features I want to take advantage of in 4.0.1 I can't figure out how to do.

[CMS] Please put CMS in /index.php and FORUMS in /forums/index.php

How do we do this now?

[Tab Ordering] Added Tab Index Ordering

I've been waiting for both of these... Thanks!

I still don't think it's possible for the first one.

Well this is in the highlights of what was fixed - • [CMS] Please put CMS in /index.php and FORUMS in /forums/index.php

So hopefully one of the vb staff can say what was fixed and how to do it now.

Please, I've looked all over the admin cp for these two features and I have no idea how to activate/use them.

It was described in thread just after 4.0.1 release. Do not remember its title, but seen TFM.

You can now have put CMS in /index.php and FORUMS in /forums/index.php. To do so follow the directions in this thread.

The only issue I'm having is that the HOME navbar button disappears on the Home (The Front) Page. Not a huge issue, but it would be nice if it stayed put.

I still can't figure out how to reorganize the navbar buttons though. Anyone figure this out?

Take a look at the index.php file, it has instructions.

After modifying and moving index.php to /root ...

Heh...Ice cream! Bring me ice cream! PICKLES... MORE PICKLES!

HAHAHAH....you got an interesting job there Zach.

Just wanted to say if you do modify your index.php and put it in the root...

be sure to change the settings in:

                            Options>Content Management> Site Tab URL>"/content.php" ---to---> "../"

Otherwise, when you go from forums to "Home" button, you'll get the old "../forums/content.php" link again. May also save you from some duplicate content hit in search engines? I dunno, either way this is a little cleaner.

                            Thanks Ya'llz!

You're misunderstanding what tab order means (I did, too)

Thank you for contacting vBulletin Support. This entry relates to fixing the tab ordering of various fields within forms. This allows users to navigate through forms using their keyboards properly.

There is no control for this in the Admin Control Panel and to change it you would need to edit the template where the form resides and update the tabindex for each element.
