    Hi,

    found it myself: {vb:raw thread.postusername}. Here is my more compact version of the block_threads template:

    Code:
    <li>
        <div id="block_widget_div" class="block smaller">
            <div class="blocksubhead">
                <a class="collapse" id="collapse_block_newthreads" href="{vb:raw relpath}#top"><img alt="" src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/collapse_40b.png" id="collapseimg_newthreads"/></a>
                <img src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_cms}/widget-forum.png" alt="" />
                <span class="blocktitle">{vb:raw blockinfo.title}</span>
            </div>
            <div id="block_newthreads" class="blockbody floatcontainer">
                <ul class="blockrow">
                    <vb:each from="threads" key="threadid" value="thread">
                    <li class="avatarcontent floatcontainer">
                        <a class="smallavatar">
                            <vb:if condition="$thread['showavatar']">
                            <img width="30" title="" src="{vb:raw thread.avatarurl}" alt=""/>
                            <vb:else />
                            <img width="30" title="" src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_misc}/unknown.gif" alt=""/>
                            </vb:if>
                        </a>
                        <div class="smallavatartext">
                            <a href="{vb:raw thread.url}" class="title" title="{vb:rawphrase posted_by} {vb:raw thread.postusername}">{vb:raw thread.title}</a>
                        </div>
                    </li>
                    </vb:each>
                </ul>
            </div>
        </div>
        <div class="underblock"></div>
    </li>
    all the best,
    Sacha

    Hi,

    can someone tell me the name of the var of the tread starter/poster? I would like to reduce the block-entries to just the title of the new thread and include additional info via the title attribute of the a href element.

    thanks - all the best,
    Sacha

    Look for the code I posted above and move some of the code around to get what you are after.

    For instance, if you want to have
    Title
    Preview Post
    Date

    Code:
    <p><a href="{vb:raw post.url}" class="title">{vb:raw post.title}</a></p>
    <div class="meta">
    {vb:raw post.message}
    <br/>
    {vb:raw post.date} <span class="time">{vb:raw post.time}</span>
    </div>
    Or, if you want to have
    Title
    Date
    Preview Post

    Code:
    <p><a href="{vb:raw post.url}" class="title">{vb:raw post.title}</a></p>
    <div class="meta">
    {vb:raw post.date} <span class="time">{vb:raw post.time}</span>
    <br/>
    {vb:raw post.message}
    </div>
    You just need to move the vb code pieces around and see what looks good to you. You can also change some of the html code.

    After you edit, click save. Reload your forum page to see the changes. If you don't see the changes right away, you might have a browser catch. Clear your browser cache, etc. and reload the page.
    Definitely worked. Thank you again so much for all your help!
