[Forum] Does VB4 have instant messaging?

When I check who's online and see there is someone I want to talk to, does the new forum have a way to do this that isn't a preivate or visitor message? Something like an IM or chat feature?

No. You'd need to check vbulletin.org for a suitable v4 modification.

THis section is only showing a symbol if a member has a messenger like icq, yahoo etc., sadly there is no real messenger on vbulletin.org don't waste your time looking for it.

Everyday now I realize just how far behind the curve the vBulletin development staff are. I only recently purchased this software and already looking to move to something better. I mean come on ... no IM status with active link??? my gosh!

And I came to vB because it was formerly known for being one of the most professional message forum apps on the market. How wrong I was!

IPB's IP.Chat has private chat. Its not completely the same, but it is an 1 to 1 chat function.

Even if vB4 did have it I'd disable it. I personally don't have an interest in it and see it as a feature that's quite minor compared to many other's that are much more valued at this time in the grand scope of defining a community using a CMS/Blog/Forum system. Besides, there's a few mods for that at vb.org anyways.

There is a FB-like chat available from cometchat. Its a pay script, but it works very well with vB. I've been using it for almost a year now.
