[Forum] Vbulletin4 Search: Show Results as Posts? No more an option??

or is it? I am not able to find this search feature when I go to http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/search.php ?? It was such a useful function to narrow down the context of the search term being used in the post. is it gone for good?

Here's how to reproduce the search, pic at bottom

1) Go to http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/search.php (they're still using vb3 as of post time)
2) enter apple in keywords
3) fill in the capcha (if ur not logged in)
4) on the 2nd panel, select Show Results as Posts
5) click Search now

Set search type to posts

it does not give the same results as what vb3 does, the point here is on *how* the results are displayed. Try it on any vb3 board and you'll understand what i mean

When on the search page, look to the right for the button, "Search by Type." Click there. That gives you more options, including the ability to return results by posts.

Took me a while to find this, too.

When the list of threads is displayed, click to go to the "last" user's post -- the double-right-arrow icon beside the user's name in the "Last post by" column.

He knows how to search for posts, he wants "Show Results as Posts" instead of just Links.

yeah, exactly. I did not know of the search by type option, so I was selecting show results as posts, but the results still shows in the similar way. Am I still missing something or is it a bug?Here is the VB 3 version of search

thats the issue here, we ned to have the post preview like on vb 3.8, it doesnt show that anymore on vbv4 we want it back !!!!

Yep, I have same problem in 4.0.1. View results as post are the same as threads. It's same in this forum.
