  • [CMS] Upgrading to 4.0 Suite problem!

    Hello people!

I recently tried to upgrade our community forums to 4.0 suite. Everything went smooth until a fatal mistake. The previous forums were installed in the directory /forums. So I updated the files within that directory there. Up until then everything was smooth except the homepage was http://www.fragdods.com/forums. Just http://www.fragdods.com was an index of ftp files.

So, being stupid and not thinking about it I grabbed all the files within /forums and moved them to the root html_public directory. Now all the links are messed up and so is the appearance of the website.

If you look at http://www.fragdods.com/ there is no template applied at all and the link to forums is http://fragdods.com/forum.php/forum.php. When they are actually located at http://www.fragdods.com/forum.php.

So I moved them back to /forums and toyed around trying to fix it. Then I had another bright epiphany and moved the files back to the root which did not work after trying to edit details in the cpanel and config.php. Its very crucial that I am able to keep all the users and forum posts. I have it backed up, but it is 122 mb and the max file size you can upload into sql is 50mb.

I am not sure what to do here, but I tried to explain the issue the best I can in case someone else came across a similar issue. Any help is very much appreciated!

Did you change your settings in vboptions > site name/url?

Do you have any htaccess files in your directory?

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

What do you have for Forum URL - should just be http://www.yoursite.org

Awesome, thank you. I changed that and I replaced the default template. It seems to be working except the images on the site. For some reason the images wouldn't transfer over on the ftp.

Did the images actually not transfer or could it just be that the permissions on the directory are incorrect?
