  • [Forum] Failed Login Attempts

    Where do you reset an accounts password attempt count?
    Or where can I change the maximum attempts?

    I'm trying to work with a member who has failed 5 times, I'm trying to trouble shoot, but I don't want to wait 15 minutes before I can continue giving instructions to my member ><

      There is no manual override for the 15 minute lockout; what you can do however is disable the system in vBOptions under "STRIKES SYSTEM".

        vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > General Settings > Use Login "Strikes" System, set to no, log in and set it back to yes
        while(true){
        if(
        $someone->needsHelp() && $i->canHelp()) $post->help();
        if(
        $i->findBug()) $post->bug();
        }

          Not true IF you have access to phpmyadmin, which as a site owner or admin you should. I'm actually dealing with an issue tonight for a client and had to track down my bookmark on it, not hard to remember though I'm just spread too thin atm .

          In phpMyAdmin select your database

          Now find the "strikes" table

          Execute this query:

          TRUNCATE `strikes`

          Now your back @ 0 login attempts for anyone who needs to know this in the future, I learned it a while back via a post by Steve Machol.
