  • [CMS] Fatal Error

    Hello. I'm getting the following error when I click on the Home button:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function query_first() on a non-object in /home2/unifiedc/public_html/ucforum/packages/vbcms/controller/content.php(82) : eval()'d code on line 12

    Disable all your plugins/products except the Blog and CMS. And when I say disable them ALL, I mean all the products on the Manage Products page (except the Blog and CMS products) AND all the plugins in the Plugin Manager (except those associated with the Blog and CMS). You must do BOTH (I can't emphasize that enough). Now see if you still have the same problem.

    Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

    If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      That did it. I really want to uninstall all of these mods, but I'm afraid I may lose out on information.

      For example, if I uninstall the post thank you hack will I lose out on all of the thanks and groans when I install the post thank you hack in the future?
      If I uninstall vbcredits will I still have all of the info, like member's accumulated vbcredits, when I install the vb4 version?

        If you uninstall a product that added fields/tables to your database, then those fields/tables should get deleted and you will lose any information that was in them. If you are hoping to later upgrade a mod, it is best to just disable it instead of uninstall it.

          Ok. Thank you.

          What if I delete all of the files within my directory? (I really want to clean things up there that have been accumulated over the past few years from installing tons of mods)
          For example, if I delete the files pertaining to vbcredits will it affect what's stored within the database?

            That is a question best asked of the developer. I don't think it should do a thing to your database if you remove the file, but I'm not the developer.
