  • Changed url now can't login

    vBulletin version 4.2.4

I changed the url of my website. All I did was edit the url fields in the admincp options. Now I can't login. It tells me I have the incorrect username/password. What did I do wrong?

You can only change the URL if you also alter the physical location of your vBulletin installation to match.

To fix this, upload tools.php from the do_not_upload folder in the download package to your admincp folder & run it in your browser. Use the option in there to set the url back to what it was. Then delete tools.php as leaving it in place is a security risk.

The physical location was changed. I was using a parked domain to still run the site. But now I am trying to change to the proper url.

      When I try to run tools.php I get a HTTP500 error.

Nevermind, I needed the install folder. I see it now. I reset the cookie path (as recommended in other searches I have done) but I still can't login.

There is also no option to change url that I can see.

edit: Nevermind, I can login now. Not sure what I did, but I think the cookie reset solved it.
