The dev team is always busy.

As already stated, 4.2.3 will remain tagged as beta for a long while yet.
There is nothing to stop you using it, and the support team will support it.

Do not worry too much about the stable/unstable tag, its somewhat poorly named really.

'stable' means no further core updates (or any updates other than patches).
'unstable' means they may still be changes to the core before final release, all non final releases are classed as unstable.

This has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

We do not have any date for 4.2.3 to come out of beta.
There may well be another beta release first.

    When will 4.2.3 be "stable"?

I'm new to vBulletin and was wondering if I should download the beta "unstable" version or I should wait until it becomes stable. What is the best move and when will it become stable??

    Thanks!
