In this case all you have to do is overwrite your forum files with the files from the 4.2.0 pl2 package. It would also be best to make a backup of the db as well even if the upgrader is not needed to be run.

In general: First of all create a backup of your database.

Then: Turn off your forum and upload all the new files from the package. Then run the upgrade by calling (your forum url)/install/upgrade.php in your browser. Follow the instructions. At the end of the upgrade delete the /install folder and open your forum again.
