[Forum] stop the sitemap generator from indexing a specific section on my forums.

How do I stop the sitemap generator from indexing a specific section on my forums. That section is password protected to prevent guests from viewing but I assume the sitemap generator will still put those links in the sitemap and submit to google. I would think that not indexing them would be a good idea?

You really shouldn't need to create a site map at all. Google will index your forum without any intervention.

Google will not be able to index a private forum. It can only index what a non registered viewer can view.

I have restricted non registered users to enter one specific forum thru admin panel and now i am receiving crawler error Google webmaster tools.

Is there any way to stop google entering one specific forum without any crawler error message in google webmaster tools

I dont want to index the content of specific forum in google

Can non registered users see any link to this specific forum?

No non registered user can see the forum, but Google bots are trying to enter and receiving the crawler error (Access restriction) in google adsence

How is the Google spider able to try and access the forum without a link to it?

There's a number of ways to create a sitemap,yes you can do it automatically through admincp or create a manual one and upload that to your perspective vendor...A sitemap is basically all the links you have in place on your site from threads/posts anything with a url.Although as stated in the thread G will find your site at some point as will all bots,but the sitemap makes it easier ie: more optimised as the bots are visiting the urls you have supplied,rather than running around the site blind.

If it's G your specifically after stopping viewing certain forums then you can create a robots.txt file and add the agent and disallow rule for the forum you require.Google bot will obey a robots.txt file.Problem of using one they are readable by everyone.And not to be used to block all agents as a lot bots ignore a robots.txt.You may also block them using .htaccess but you must have mod_rewrite enabled on your server.
