[Forum] Want to upgrade but...

Hi,
I want to upgrade from 4.1.5 to 4.4.2, however I using a third party skin.
My questions are..
1- If I upload all files and upgrade forum is this not effect my current skin (some custom modifications in it)
2- Is there any tutorial video or steps to upgrade.
3- What is the most secure and quickest upgrade way. I mean less possible downtime of forum (You can redirect me to any thread if exist)

1. Styles are held in the database. There WILL be changes to the templates so I'd recommend that you test the upgrade first:

3. That depends on how many users/posts etc are in your database. The test site will give you some idea
