  • [Suite] Loadbalancing Vbulletin after upgrade

    Hello,

Last night we upgraded from 3.6.12 to version Publishing Suite 4.1.12. I'm still just working with it on a production server and have our forums turned off currently.

We have 6 million posts and on version 3.6.12 we ran the forum across 5 apache servers, 1 nfs server, and 1 mysql server.

We run the core programming of vbulletin on the apache but then NFS mounted these in 3.6.12
    /customavatars
    /customprofilepics
    /signaturepics
    /userimages
    /attachments
    /clientscript/vbulletin_css/

The purpose is so that if a user uploads an avatar, signature, atachment, etc... all the servers have access to that file immediately.

Is this still the preferred way to handle loadbalancing with vbulletin? Are their any NFS mounts I should create for the Publishing Suite 4.1.12?

I can really find nothing on loadbalancing vbulletin and am hoping for some insight. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Your current setup should continue to work. You'll probably want to add /store_sitemap to your NFS Mounts. Other than that, has really changed on how vBulletin stores files and uploads since that version.
