[Forum] Forum Navbit Issue Post 4.1.10 Upgrade

Hi Guys,

I just upgraded from 4.1.9 to 4.1.10 and have ran into a little issue and I'm wondering if it had to do with the prompt that was in the admin panel post install which asked to either allow or remove old stylevars. Well...I'm trying to keep as stock as possible so I allowed it to discard the old stylevars.

Not sure if that's the issue or not, but everything went smooth except for the fact that the forum navbits are now truncated both in the thread display and post display.

It's also affected the use of the navigation itself in that the dropdown/popup link options are not HUGE!


Anybody see this before or have any advise on how to fix it?

You really need to provide a link, style issues cannot generally be diagnosed from images very easily.

Looks like you have a bigger issue, Google Chrome is giving me a malware warning when attempting to view your site.

Okay....have worked and worked and the site is finally clean. Of all things....it was the VB script that was being hacked and a malware link kept popping up in my footer template. I've hardened the server with a firewall, changed all the passwords (including VB admins) and am finally back online.

So.....can you please now look into the original issue?

It very well might be the style is no longer compatible with VB 4.1.10. If you use the default style (Admin CP -> Style Manager -> Add a New Style -> no parent style) does it have the same problems?

If not is it possible the author of this style has released an update for 4.1.10?

Thanks for getting back to me and you were correct! I created a new style as you suggested and the links were where they were supposed to be.

Thing is that it was me that created the style currently in use. I remember now that someone helped me with a bit of code that allowed the title image to float and stay the width of the screen no matter what size the screen was and that appears to now be in conflict with 4.1.10.

The default style that I'm using is indeed a "child style" but the parent is just as whacked.

The title image is pushing that particular block, frame or whatever down from where it should be.

This is really frustrating as I had to skin the whole site just to get it looking the way it does now when we cutover from static HTML pages to the Publishing Suite.

I do have a style that appears to be compatable as the nav links are all where they should be...and I don't mind reskinning it to match and then cutting it over as the new default...the problem is that when I change the title image to what it should be, I'm back to square one with it not centering on the page. Here's screen shot of it:



I really need it to look like this (but with the links where they should be):

That was exactly what I was wanting and more! Not only did you help me fix my issue but I had posted previously that I wanted to try having multple title images that would float and adjust to whatever screen size and that's exactly what you gave me! *bows low*

I did have to tweek one bit of code though as you had

And I used the following to call the CSS item

<div id="headerFill"><div id="headerL"></div><div id="headerR"></div></div> 

I also specified the width for the main title image (headerFill) which got it to center up quite nicely. When using 100% like you specified it would shove the main image all the way over to the left if no left image is used.

I made some tests on my server before giving an answer to your problem, everything OK. I created before a gradient for the picture in the Middle, and two images, one on the right and the other to the left so that we could adapt to any screen resolution. I'm glad you solved the problem.
