  • [Forum] 4.1.4 CLI upgrade shows vB version as 4.1.3 when complete

    We have to use the CLI upgrade due to the number of posts and it's a blessing.

    However, today then we upgraded from 4.1.3 PL1 to 4.1.4 via the CLI, when the process finished, the system tells us in both the html output and ACP that we are now on vB 4.1.3.

    This is a dev forum. The style is 100% stock. The plug in system is off via the config.php. The upgrade from 3.8.x to 4.1.3 PL1 went smoothly.

    Can we get a hint here on if there is something we missed and need to address?

    Thanks.

    That is due to not having all the 4.1.4 files uploaded, in particular the .xml files in the install directory. Reupload all the files and try again.

      Did a directory compare and can't see an issue there, but will upload again and try again.

      The file and folder counts are the same in the zip, on the HD and on the server. All the time stamps are updated and there are no zero length files on the server. We are overwriting a fresh install of 4.1.3 PL1 files.

      Thanks. We'll see what happens.

            Not so sure. We created a folder and downloaded the install folder, here is the upgrade.php header.

            Code:
            <?php
            /*======================================================================*\
            || #################################################################### ||
            || # vBulletin 4.1.4 - Licence Number xxxxxxxxxxx

            All the downloaded files have 4.1.4 headers.

              Which versions show in the upper right-hand corner of the upgrade.php page?

                  How large is your forum? Did you try the CLI again? Can you run upgrade.php?

                    Are you getting an errors when uploading your files.

                    The EXACT same thing was happening to me, what had happened was a load of file permissions had somehow gotten changed so when I was uploading the files for upgrade some 300 odd didn't overwrite the old files. I ran through the upgrade about 3 times, each time everything seemed to work but when I checked the version I was always on 4.1.3. Long shot but could be the same thing happening to you.

                      Tried the the CLI 3 times with no success. We can try the web upgrader.

                        I would. If the CLI did it's job then upgrade.php would skip most steps then reimport the XML files.

                          Ran the web upgrade and all the version info is correct at 4.1.4 now. Thanks for helping out. We wanted to stick to CLI upgrades though in the future.

                              Based on past haste, I did a lot of double checking. I'm certain we had the correct files in place. But as you said, the web interface did nothing, all the work had been done under the cli already. Thanks for staying with me on this. It was a big help.
