Hello Steve, here is an update for you, sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this.

After copying the files I did see the On Line users when I checked, back a few hours later and got back onto the system and again they don't show up. So I went through all the processes that you asked me to do to disable all the Add-Ons in both places and the create a new style (no parent) and that also did not work showing members On-Line.

As for these files below they are not in the vb4.1.2 download, could these be older files on the server the it found?

blog_search.php File version mismatch: found 4.1.0 Patch Level 1, expected 2.0.2
class_blog_search.php File version mismatch: found 4.1.0 Patch Level 1, expected 2.0.2

That means you are still using the 3.x blog files for those. You need to upload the 4.1.0 files. make sure you overwrite the ones on the server.

Steve, thanks very much for the information and I made sure that the FTP software was set for ASCII, it was set on Auto. Next uploaded all the files except the ones that you had noted.
Uploaded all the files and then checked the system, and sure enough the (On Line users) now shows up, so there was a glitch some how during the upload and a first for me. This is with all the Add-ons installed still. So good news for that part of things.

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

I ran this just in case, and came across these 2 items that seem to have an issue, and not sure how to go about resolving this.

blog_search.php File version mismatch: found 4.1.0 Patch Level 1, expected 2.0.2
class_blog_search.php File version mismatch: found 4.1.0 Patch Level 1, expected 2.0.2

Other than that this is the only remaining problem that I have.

Again, thanks for the support and guiding me through this, it was a big help.

    Dennis

So my question is where do I start now since all the plugins are disabled.
You need to go to both the Manage Products page and disable all products AND go to the Plugin Manager and disable all plugins. You need to do BOTH of those pages.

Thanks. You still have add-ons installed. To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

Next, disable all products (except vB Blog and vB CMS if you are running the Suite.)

Admin CP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Disable

Then manually uncheck all plugins that are not for 'vBulletin Blog' and vBulletin CMS' here:

Admin CP -> Plugins & Products -> Plugin Manager

You must do BOTH of those steps in order to disable all non vBulletin Modifications.

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it.

Do you have the same problem?

Thanks gajj, I don't use that one at all, and again thanks for the tip.

Lynne, thanks for the help first of all.

Added a new style as you pointed out and tested and the same thing happened.

But when I added the PHP code I could see the online users now, even with the other styles. So my question is that even though I disabled all the plugins from the plugins manager this should have worked, and yet not the case, so what is the next that I should take, remove them all? And then reinstall...

Create a new style with no parent:
    • Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
    • Parent Style: No Parent Style
    • Title: Default vBulletin
    • Allow User Selection: Yes
    • Save

Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

If so, try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

    PHP Code:
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);
