Revert all templates (I was lost for about 30 mins after the upgrade)
Make sure to copy any template mods (such as banner display codes) before reverting

I check the new downloads in the userCP of vB.com. You can't expect someone to fully read the news. Such things should be mentioned when upgrading through the installation to make sure the user does revert the styles.

The installation Documentation need to reflect everything that needs to be done each time you upgrade or install... It is not being updated..... Posting instructions like this and expecting people to search all of this site to see what needs to be done before they install is just plain sloppy. Once vb 4 went gold the install documents should have been completely updated to reflect all changes and requirements. Again someone is both very lazy and very sloppy.

Like in my signature the ddocuments should be update before a release and included in the zip file...

I read over all the documentation myself, but I occasionally miss certain things. I did miss the note about reverting templates until reading it here, but I never upgrade right away anyhow. Instead, I like to read over the problem pages here for a few days. If you have a problem with an upgrade, you may want to consider the same. Waiting to upgrade a few days won't hurt anything and there is less stress when you finally do.

I agree .. these releases to me seem like they should be RC ones - lack of documentation and some of these changes are big and affecting peoples mods and skins

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
