  • 3.8.9 - Cant create new threads

    I am running 3.8.9 and PHP 5.5, and can't see to create any new threads. When I try I get a blank page with a 500 error.

    I have disabled all plugins and tried creating a new thread with the default theme and I still get the same error.

    Looking at the logs, the only errors I see are:

    [18-Nov-2016 00:47:39 UTC] PHP Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/user/public_html/global.php(607) : eval()'d code on line 1570
    [18-Nov-2016 00:49:02 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /home/user/public_html/includes/class_core.php on line 3293

    What method did you use to disable addons?

      The reason Mark is asking you that is that the first error clearly shows plugins are not disabled.
      Baby, I was born this way

        I disabled them one by one.

          Please try the following:

          1. To disable the plugin/hook system completely, edit includes/config.php and add the following code:
          Just below
          Code:
          <?php
          enter
          Code:
          define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
          2. Now go to AdminCP > Style Manager
          and create a new style with no parent.
          Now browse your forum using this new style.

          Do you still have the same problem?
