    No idea what was causing the problem, but I moved to a different server and the problems stopped.

    Random tables corrupting

    My forums have been up and down for the last 3 days with tables randomly going corrupt. The forums might stay up for 3-4 hours or might stay up for 30 minutes, but after a period of time tables start crashing.

    My host insists that they have checked the hard drive and memory on the machine.

    I upgraded mysql to the latest version today and also moved all of the data off to an external drive. Sure enough, within 30 minutes I started getting messages that a table had gone corrupt.

    I do see notes in the event viewer that tell me that mysql crashes on occasion, but those do not correspond with these periods of databases crashing.

    Could something in vb have gone bad to cause this?

    I am afraid that my next step is to try to move a forum with 5g in data off to another host.

    As a follow up, not sure if this has anything to do with anything but I have found the following error in my mysql error log twice. Each time corresponds with a mysql crash in the event log...

    --------------

    130130 3:11:27 - mysqld got exception 0xc0000005 ;
    This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary
    or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built,
    or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.
    We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help diagnose
    the problem, but since we have already crashed, something is definitely wrong
    and this may fail.

    key_buffer_size=57671680
    read_buffer_size=65536
    max_used_connections=24
    max_threads=100
    thread_count=8
    connection_count=8
    It is possible that mysqld could use up to
    key_buffer_size + (read_buffer_size + sort_buffer_size)*max_threads = 89045 K
    bytes of memory
    Hope that's ok; if not, decrease some variables in the equation.
