  • Create a test site after the fact?

I'm getting ready to go from 3.8 to 4.2 - no test site was ever created, but naturally now I need one. How would I go about this now?

Thanks for the link! Now, how do I get the old program version to install on the test site?

I thought you wanted to upgrade to vB4.2. Create a test site for the new version. You don't need a test site for the old version you're running now.

I do - I thought (maybe incorrectly?) that I need to mirror what I have first so I can "test" how the upgrade goes, especially since it is a massive change. No?

No all you have to do is backup your vB3.8 database and use that backup on your test forum (the new vB4.2).
