vbulletin uses a lot of resources? (From my host)

vBulletin is known for using large amounts of resources, what I can recommend for you to do is either tweak vBulletin itself so it's not as memory intensive or move it to a VPS. We only allow shared users to use 64MB of memory which with vBulletin and MySQL running you will likely hit that limit fairly quick.
I thought vB wouldn't use much, especially for a new forum.

Isn't it the CMS which is using much?

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

      Find a better host urgently.

I myself got tired of rubbish hosts claiming vBulletin is "resource hungry". It isn't.

I ran my vB site for years on a £5 a month shared hosting platform. I only moved to a VPS solution because the site itself outgrew it in terms of traffic and database size.

At the beginning it won't be that bad, but vBulletin does prefer it when MySQL is running with lots of cache, which takes up memory as your DB grows.
