Promotion not working

Hello, I am trying to turn an old promotion we had back on. It's the typical one you setup for controlling the first post/reply of new members.

We have Registered Users and the Approved Users user group.

Registered Users is set to "No" for "Follow Forum Moderation Rules"

The promotion setup for Registered users is as follows:

Rep Level: 0
Days Reg'd: 0
Posts: 1
Promo Strat: Posts
Promo Type: Primary Usergroup
Rep Comparison Type: Greater or Equal To
Move Users to Usergroup: Approved Users

However, with this all turned on we still have new accounts appearing and posting spam.

Is there something I've done wrong to re-enable this Promotion? (I had previously turned it off by switching 'Follow Forum Moderation Rules' to Yes).

Found it. I suppose setting this to 'use Usergroup default permissions' would fix it?

Yea, if they have custom permissions overriding somewhere.
