  • Username in Subscription Notifiation

    Hi

Just wondering if it's possible to auto insert the 'user's' name into the subscription email that's sent out?

atm, it only inserts the user who posted the thread/post, but not to the user who subscribes...I've tried using the variable:

    $username

    but doesn't work!

    example:
    PHP Code:
    Hello 'USERNAME HERE,

$bbuserinfo[username] has just posted in the $foruminfo[title_clean]  forum of $vboptions[bbtitle] under the title of  $threadinfo[prefix_plain]$threadinfo[title].

This thread is located at $vboptions[bburl]/showthread.php?t=$threadinfo[threadid]

Here is the message that has just been posted:
    ***************
    $post[message]
    ***************
    Any help would be great!

    Thank you!
    Warm regards,

I think your answer is in the first sentence of the email.

    Have you tried $bbuserinfo[username] yet?

I've already tried that, and it only inserts the poster's username, so, no use!

You might be able to try $touser[username] but I can't guarantee it would work.

thanks, but it displays 'Subscriber' and not the username! vB4 is the only version it works on, but not vB3.8.7

Seems odd that it doesn't include that variable in such notifications even though emails, and Paid Subscription Reminder's, do!
            Warm regards,

Problems of non-modular code. Each implementation is written with different specifications. If it doesn't work in your version, you would need custom PHP coding to expose the variable in order for it to work.
