  • ExpiresActive On for modified CSS

    I have htaccess

    <IfModule mod_expires.c>
    ExpiresActive On
    ExpiresByType image/gif A2592000
    ExpiresByType image/jpeg A2592000
    ExpiresByType image/png A2592000
    ExpiresByType application/x-shockwave-flash A2592000
    ExpiresByType text/css A2592000
    ExpiresByType application/x-javascript A2592000
    </IfModule>

    If I have modified CSS as follow ... do I need to include the type in the following CSS for it to be cache?

    .bcrn-r {
    float: right;
    background-image: url(styles/redcarbon/misc/greycorner_br.gif);
    width: 10px;
    height: 10px;
    }

    If you have that css in a .css file, then it will be cached according to your htaccess rules.

    If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      Sorry i am quite new to this. If i have a pic that is not included in the CSS.

      If i include a image file somewhere in the code for example a GIF file.

      Do I need to specify the type so that the module is aware that it need to cache.

      For example ...

      <IMG SRC=".../photo.gif" type="image/gif" ALT="xxxx" width="350" height="75"border="0">

      I need to include the .... type="image/gif"

        or the module is smart enuff to recognize that it is a gif image file and will cache accordingly?

          If you want to change a file, it would be better to rename it, since youre expire heads are set for the future.

            You do not need to enter the type into the image tag (and that is not a valid property anyway).

            widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
