  • Thread Visibility in Private Forum

I have a forum I've recently constructed. The idea is that I'll let the users post threads there, but I only want them to see the threads they have started. I don't want a user to be able to see the threads others have started.

That's easy. I set the permissions for that.

The problem is that I need to also make a sticky thread that EVERY user can see in that forum so that they can get an understanding of what that forum is for.

I tried making a thread as an admin and I made it sticky, but it's not showing up for anyone other than me. How can I make this thread visible to everyone in that forum but still prevent them from seeing threads anyone else started?

If I can't do that, what's a good way to work around this? I sort of need to let the users know what that forum is for.

Have you tried placing an announcement in the forum instead?
    Vote for:

    - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
    -
*PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
    - "Quick Route" Interface...

Nope. I hadn't. That's how I did it before, though. Thanks for the reminder and for thinking of it!
