Restoring Backup for a Specific Subforum only (not the whole DB)

Ok, seems a section of my site got wiped... I think I know what happened but..

To fix it, I have a DB backup from just before the threads were removed.. Can I restore just 1 section? Is that possible?

That is not possible, you either have to restore the entire database, or lose the lost data. We do not support partial restores.

Can i transfer threads from 1 forum to another? I.e. restore my backup to my test site, and transfer across the relevant threads?

That would still be classed as a partial restore.
