Please help me with style/ layout!!!

I'm pretty new to installing forums and updating so please forgive me for asking such a noob question. I want to change the overall layout of my forum. I would like it to have pretty much the exact same layout at this forum we're on right now. Style and colors, however the original buttons I have are fine with me. The name of the person posting on the left hand side and comment on the right of it is how I want it to be. Any help will greatly be appreciated! Thanks

Well, you're running vBulletin 3 series. This site is running vBulletin 4 series. That's the biggest distinction right there. When did you buy your vBulletin license?

I was able to download the new version, but i wouldn't know where to begin to install it. Should I try that first?

Same basic procedure you used to install vB3.8.

If you want vB3.8, use vB3.8. If you want vB4, use vB4.

I prefer the functionality, styling, and maturity of vB3.8, but you have to decide for yourself which you prefer.
