  • Forum Crashed DB Error?

    Hi
It's been a while since I ran into a problem with one of my forums I'm not sure where to look on this one.
Yesterday evening one of my discussion forums crashed. The forum has less than a hundred members, I haven't changed anything and no one was on the forum yesterday.
I remember receiving an e-mail recently from my host stating a version upgrade would be conducted soon to mySQL? Could this be the reason?
I can get into my control panel. The message below is what I found.
I'm wondering if I should got to the maintenance section and update everything?
Again I am not sure. I have also sent a copy of this post to my host.
Below is the message that I am receiving, among a few hundred DB error messages.
    Thanks

Run Repair/Optimize in the Admin CP. You may need to run it more than once to fix all errors:

Admin Control Panel -> Maintenance -> Repair/Optimize Tables -> Check All -> Continue

If you cannot access the Admin CP, then you can use phpMyAdmin to repair tables.

If that doesn't work then this may be too damaged to fix with the normal methods. Please check out this thread for other ways to repair a db, particularly items #2 and 3:

You may have to ask your host to try and repair this for you.
    Vote for:

    - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
    -
*PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
    - Highlight the correct navigation tab when you are on a custom page
    - "Quick Route" Interface...
    - Allow to use custom icons for individual forums

      Thanks Trevor;
I sent the OP above to my host support as well. Within minutes the site was back up.
      Below is their support message.
I'm wondering if I should still go in Admin Cont and execute the procedure in your first two lines above?
Forum seems to be operating as normal.

I have checked on your database and found the database table are corrupted. I ran the database repair and your site seems to be working now.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further assistance or have any questions.
      Kind Regards,
