No, actually hhh displays this: which for some reason is called "Hoos" on my forum... I don't know why it's called "Hoos" I assume its name dates back to before my forum broke away from the original forum and this was one of the original smileys they used.

I ended up changing :ahhh: to :ahh: for now... it isn't an oft used smiley.

I'm presuming that hhh displays a heart? If you've not assigned LLL, try that. Tell the mobile peeps that it's for "love".

Nevermind... with my mods disabled it works as expected... must be a mod doing something... no big deal.

Exactly... it happens in my 3.8 live forum, but not on my 4.0.8 test forum... I made the hhh and :ahhh: on the test forum and it works fine -:ahhhh: is always displayed... I didn't think it would be since the code seems so similar... But I have over 400 smilies on the live board and only 12 or 13 on the test install so I can't rule out someone else isn't at play here.

Odd. Are you saying this problem occurs with 3.8 and not 4.0?

Is this a bug or expected behavior? (Re: Smilies)

So I had a smiley on my forum for a while called :ahhh: for some time.
More recently I was asked my mobile users to make a few "3 letter combo: smilies they could enter while using their cell phone keyboards where making colons ( was hard for them. So I made a handful of popular smileys into these 3 letter combos:
like jjj, fff, yyy, and hhh.

hhh works fine... but :ahhh: now bugs out... it displays the hhh smiley surrounded by partial HTML code of a broken <img> tag... very ugly looking. I realize this is an unusual situation but seems like something that should be addressed. This doesn't seem to be an issue in VB 4.0.8.
