I've been asked to remove the links on all user profile names in the "Last post by" lines on forumhome, and in the What's Going On section, on advice from someone who is apparently knowledgeable about SEO. It wasn't directly stated that SEO is the reason for the link removals, but it seemed to be inferred. So it made me wonder if having user profiles linked like that are somehow detrimental to SEO, or perhaps they take focus away from the site's actual content because they show up on search engine results? Anyone have any advice?
