  • How can I ban a range of IP addresses in 3.8.5?

At the end of the day, more than half of my 100+ registrations per day come from spammers from certain countries (none of my actual legit members come from here), and since I manually screen out people from these countries, I'd like to flat out ban all IP addresses from these countries.

For example, China and India are two of the biggest offenders, and the range of web addresses I'd like to ban come from these sets of IPs:

    http://www.countryipblocks.net/e_cou...a/CN_range.txt

    http://www.countryipblocks.net/e_cou...ta/IN_cidr.txt

How can I block all of these from hitting my site? I've seen the .htaccess file suggested ,but I'm not a coder, however if someone can show me how to word the .htaccess file I can make the changes myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use user banning options in the admincp to block off IPs one by one, or for a block of IPs for say 59.121.*

But in this case, I'd want do larger blocks of bans like this for say this range

    27.192.0.0 - 27.223.255.255.

without having to do all this.

    27.19*
    27.20*
    27.21*
    27.220.*
    27.221.*
    27.222.*
    27.223.*

You'd want to do that in your htaccess file or though your webhost.
