    Smiles extends out too much

    Hi,

I have a minor problem, my "Smiles" window extends off the main thread window, please see attached. I upgraded from 3.6.4 to 3.8.6 a few weeks ago and will be going live this week. The upgrade updated about 9 templates and I only reverted 1, the registration template. I was wondering if the other updated templates may have caused this or ?
    Thank You for your time.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

If you do not have this problem with the original templates, then this means the problem is with one or more of your custom templates. You need to revert your templates, then redo your changes.

I reverted the "headinclude" template, this fixed the Smiles window problem.

      Thanks Steve

Reverting the "headinclude" template fixed the Smiles window, however, it also broke the displaying of "Ads by Google" on top and right-side of page. The space for the ad are there, but it's blank. Any ideas?

        Thanks

          Where was your code added?

I searched the template "headinclude" for Google and found the GoogleAddSlot. Is this what you're asking for?

Sorry but I haven't mess with templates much.

            Thanks

I don't know if that is the correct code or not. Have you tried removing it, after making a copy of course.

I went to the live system, in the headinclude template found and copy the "Adserver leaderboard" block to the headinclude on the new server and this fixed the ads by Google problem. The Smiles window is still good also.

We went live with the new Red Hat server yesterday morning, so far no problems yet.

                Thanks
