Turn off uploading avatar option?

How do I make it so my members can't upload an avatar but can still use a link to an off site one?

you can't i mean not without editing the source code which may not be discussed here.I'll give you a hint

1) turn on debug mode (NOT ON YOUR LIVE SITE !!!!!)
2)view the page where people can upload a avatar
3) get the template name (bottom of your screen)
4) comment out the code that takes care of this
4) <!-- this is an html comment -->
5) all done

people cannot upload a avatar because the controls are no longer there

that's all i can say before Steve kicks my ass
