  • Forum transfer, database error

    Hi,

Surpass has transferred my site from a US server to a UK one, and have moved all my data automatically. The site works fine, however whenever trying to access a thread on the forum the following error is recieved:
    Database error
The bfenthusiasts | Forums database has encountered a problem.
    Please try the following:
Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
Open the forums.bfenthusiasts.com home page, then try to open another page.
Click the Back button to try another link.
The forums.bfenthusiasts.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience.

Try to repair the table reported as crashed. You can do at phpmyadmin.

I have gone into admin > maintenance > repair/optimise tables and selected to repair 'threadread' but continually get the message:

Error: Table upgrade required. Please do "REPAIR TABLE `threadread`" to fix it!

        Run this query:

        Code:
        REPAIR TABLE `threadread`;
P.s. For future reference, it is best to do such operations directly at the db rather than from the acp.

That appears to have sorted it. What would have caused that to happen?

          Affected Rows: 1 (0.5278s)

It could have been caused by a number of reasons, such as: unstable operating system on which Mysql is installed could trigger the crash, or the hardware has problems, or it could even be as simple as a power failure, etc etc.
