It seems the problem is being caused by changes made to functions_newpost.php, when I revert that file back to the previous version the bbcode worked as it should.

I've tried it on a fresh untouched empty board and it still persists.

I have just noticed that this was listed as fixed in 3.8.5 and have a feeling the fix could be my bug - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/proje...?issueid=28709

Looks like that your replacement does not work.
Try creating a default style, no parent style. Force it to use default templates, then browse your board using this new style. Do you have the same problem?

If so, disable all your modifications and see what happens.

Yes I've tried removing the target code and still get the same sort of result

I've just tested it on a clean install vb3.8.5 on my dev box and still get the same result.

    <a href="{param}" target="_new">
This looks to be the part that is being ignored. Have you tried removing the target code from the anchor html and seeing if it worked?
Not a bug, since this is extremely specific to your site.

    BBcode bug?

I have a bbcode on my site that shows a button for download links, since the 3.8.5 upgrade these are all now broken.

Name:	bbcode.PNG
Views:	1
Size:	8.4 KB
ID:	3715460

The replacement code is as follows
    Title: Download
    Tagname: dl
    Code:

    <a href="{param}" target="_new"><img src="images/downloadbutton.png" border="0" alt="download" /></a>
    Example: [dl]http://www.sevenforums.com/sfp/youtube.osdx[/dl]

Could somebody take a look and see if I'm missing something here or this is a new bug.
