  • db error: Incorrect information in '.../noticedismissed.frm'

One of my sites has suddenly sprouted the db error you see below. Nothing has been changed on the site for about a month, so it's a mystery why this happened today. Suggestions for a fix?
    Code:
    Invalid SQL:

                SELECT noticeid
                FROM noticedismissed AS noticedismissed
                WHERE noticedismissed.userid = 2;

MySQL Error : Incorrect information in file: './username_forums/noticedismissed.frm'
    Error Number : 1033
    Request Date : Monday, February 15th 2010 @ 01:29:19 PM

Have you tried any sort of repair on the table? I don't think I've ever seen a post about this error before.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Can't get into AdminCP so I tried via phpMyAdmin. I saw a number of tables that were labeled as "in use". Running a repair on any of them gives this type of result:

      Code:
      Table Op Msg_type Msg_text
username_forums.noticedismissed repair Error Incorrect information in file: './username_forums/noticedismissed.frm'
      username_forums.noticedismissed repair error Corrupt

Yikes! I'm not gonna suggest anything else to do here since I'm not a database person. I would put in a support ticket and let someone with database knowledge make some suggestions on what to do.

            What happened with your ticket?

Two of my vb4 boards turned up similiar "out of the blue" incorrect information tables as well.

Curious what was the cause, and the result.

            Thanks.

Your table definition file seems to be corrupted and needs rebuilding/repair for that table. REPAIR or vbadmincp repair options or mysqlcheck won't work to repair this. You need to close your forum and shut down mysql server and use myisamchk to recreate the *.frm and *.myi files for that table.

This is decribed in Stage 4, step 2 at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/repair.html

              - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
              - "Quick Route" Interface...

I can't believe I didn't see this reply; I usually get email notifications of threads but for some reason this one escaped my notice.

Anyway, the reply to my ticket directed me to this thread. Whether it helped or not, I don't remember, but problem did get fixed; just can't remember exactly how. Did you get it fixed on your board? Did Trevor's suggestions help?
