If they haven't used the Paid Subscription system then it likely will not pick them up to 'revert' them. When setting up a Paid Subscription for a user, data is entered into the database so that when the Scheduled Task comes along, it knows what group to revert them to. If the add-on uses the same tables then it may work - if it used it's own (or own columns/fields in the same table) then it won't.

Further to this:

I will continue to have it set up the way I had before. Primary usergroup doesn't change but on payment, they will have VIP Member 'usergroup' added. Easy.

Question: I am moving from a modification that looked after this. So some members are already VIP Members. if a member is already a primary member of 'Registered' and a additional member of 'VIP Member' prior to paying for a subscription, then nothing changes with their current groups obviously. If they lapse and don't continue, will it remove the VIP additional group even though it was added prior to the donation?

If you set the Usergroup to 'Can override primary group title/markup > Yes', then users will get this as the displayed usergroup.

1. The usergroup they were in prior to taking the subscription. Will they be promoted after? Yes, if they meet the promotion criteria although there may be a delay depending on how long it is until the Promotions Scheduled Task is due to re-run (it's set to hourly at h:25 by default)

2. There doesn't appear to be a 'thank you for subscribing' email in the Phrase Manager, however the reminder is held as phrase 'paidsubscription_reminder' - this also advises that if they don't cancel it they will be billed automatically.

Hi there,

I have two questions about paid subscriptions.

Background:
I used to use the Cyb - Paypal Donate hack, but the re-occurring subscription didn't work, so I have decided to go back to vB's Paid Subscription component.

In the past, when a user made a donation they system added the additional VIP usergroup, but also set that as the display usergroup, so that the username is changes colour. I see that vB doesn't change the display group and therefore change the username colour automatically.

I know that if I make it change the primary usergroup it will change the display, which is fine. I'm happy to change it around to that.

Q1. What group will the user revert to when the subscription ends? If the default registration group, will my promotions kick in and promote immediately if they qualify?

Q2. Can someone tell me what notifications are sent to the user when they donate? It doesn't say in the instructions. I presume:

- Thank you for your subscription (at time of payment)??
- Reminder subscription ending (close to end time of subscription)??
- Notification of auto renew (if re-occuring subscription is enabled)??

Is that right??
