  • Several serious bugs occurring - Urgent

vBulletin version 3.8.4 Patch Level 1
    Installed 10th November 2009

    1. Occasionally when a member from Registered User or Supporter groups posts, a message flashes up that the post has to be moderated before being posted. (No moderation is required for groups posts).

The message the poster receives is:

Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting. You will now be taken back to the forum. If you opted to post a poll, you will now be allowed to do so.

Click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you.

    2. WhoisOnline: In the second column is what they are reading or posting, or doing, in this second column the word Moderator in black comes up on the thread/post the member is looking at and then disappears just as quickly.

    3. Threads moved on their own. 2 threads were moved on 2 seperate days, both from the Mods forum, both delicate information about 2 members. These 2 threads were put into the same public forum but on different days. Neither Mods or Admin moved the posts and all permissions are set correctly for all groups and all forums. This may be a bug or may be a moderator that has since been removed from the forum. But need to check it was only possible to move threads manually by a moderator.

    4. Admin received an email from a member informing of a login problem. Admin replied to member asking for username and member replied they had not sent the email and never logged out anyway.

All Groups and User permissions have been triple checked and Admin and Mod permissions triple checked.

Please advise. We have 12mths tech support with our licence.

    1) sounds like a mod that looks at the post and based on what is in there, it puts a post in moderation (I forget what it's called)

    3) Did you check all your admin cp logs? (Moderator Logs, Control Panel Logs) And how about the access_logs for the site around the time this happened? (If you don't know where they are, ask your host - I am not talking about vbulletin logs here.)

    4) You could check the headers on your email, but unless you know what you are looking at, it won't help much.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.
