How to send VCard?

I have stored profile with checkbox to store vCard.
How to send private vCard or this is visible within user page?

If a user allows the vCard download, the link to download its vCard will be displayed in the Contact Info table on his profile.

Is this vCard as in Outlook and is always standard format?
