Is it possible to limit moderators abilities to give infractions to their forums?

Well, it seems to me, moderators can give infractions in all forums, not just the ones where they are moderators. It looks to me like it's a global decision if moderators can give infractions.

How can I make moderators have all their moderating powers restricted just to their forums, infractions included? Am I missing something?

Please, I'm new to vBulletin, but I think that moderators should be just another users in others forums. And, I'd like to give them ability to give infractions, but only in their respective forums.

Super moderators have global rights, infractions included.

    Please, help me...

The right to give infractions is assigned on a usergroup basis, so you have no way to give your moderators that ability only in certain forums. Even because it is not a forum based system, user infractions will be valid on your whole board, despite of which forum the infarcted post resides in (also note that infractions may be given even throughout member profiles).

Yes, I understand that it affects user throughout board, but I thought there could be a way that moderators couldn't give infractions for posts outside their forums. Now they can give infractions anywhere, for any post. In a way, a wanted to have a bit of competition between moderators' domains. Now they can give infractions in "opposition's forum". Anyway, that was just a thought. Thank you, now I know that it can't be done...

You could but its not by default.

You would have to use a conditional like can_moderate(); and wrap it around the infraction link.

Thank you. I understand what you suggesting, but at the moment I don't know how to use your advice. I'm just a beginner right now.

I hope some day I'll be able to use it.
