When a social group type is set to "moderated" that means members can request to join via a form on a specific page ( group.php?do=join&groupid=## ).
That URL can be promoted throughout the forum or even in signatures (wherever) to get people to request group membership.
Problem is when someone clicks that link and they are already a group member. Instead of seeing a message simply stating that they are already a member of that particular group they receive the "you do not have permission to access this page" message.
I believe this may be rather confusing for the site members. It really should indicate that they are already a group member (if they are) instead of the 'no permissions' message.
