Cannot find phrase pmreceived after php/mysql upgrade

I upgraded PHP from 5.2.6 to 5.2.11 and MySQL from 4.1.22 to 5.0.81 and now my new PM notification email shows only the following text:

Could not find phrase 'pmreceived'.

Please advise. Thanks.

Running the 'Admin > Maintenance > Repair Tables' operation on all tables fixed the problem.
