    Time Will Not Display Correctly - Can't firgure it out

    I'm not a newbie to vBulletin. Been running a vbulletin forum site for over a year. But I recently started a second site and bought and installed it on that site's server.

    I have configured all the settings I can find and think of, but no matter what I do, the time displayed on the forum remains at GMT. I have confirmed with my web host that the server time is set correctly. I have made the Date and Time options set to the correct time. But no matter what I do, it displays as GMT. I am in the GMT-5 time zone and that is what I should be seeing.

    Can anyone help me with this? I feel like I'm overlooking something simple and easy, but I'm banging my head against a wall here.

    My other site does not have this problem, so I cannot figure it out. Help, please? Thanks.

    So, you set it correctly in the Admin CP > vboptions > Time & Date Settings and you have also set it correctly in your User CP? Do you have any modifications? Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    PHP Code:
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

    If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      vBulletin gets its time from the server. You need to set the timezone in the Admin CP to whatever you want the default to be and the DST settings should match whatever settings are on the server.

      Then each user needs to set their local timezones/DST in the User CP. If you do this correctly and the server time is correct, then the correct times will show.

      This also assumes that you have not modified the footer template to affect the DST detection code in it or installed any modification that broke this.

        I knew it was something simple. I had forgotten that users need to set that in their own options in the UserCP. I have done that and it is now correct. Thanks. I just don't remember ever having this issue before on my other board which had hundreds of members, many of them young. If this was necessary for each new user I would think I would have gotten lots of questions about it before. But oh well. . . at least for this new board it is fixed for me as an individual user. Still scratching my head a little tho ... it just has never been an issue on my other board. Well, thanks!

          The time zone is a dropdown shown to users when they register. Most users will set it correctly at that time which is why you never hear about it. You, the admin, probably were registered when you created your forum and you don't get shown that dropdown box. So, you need to go into your User CP and change it.
