[Deprecated] An Error Message With New Installation

I tried to install version 3.8.4, previously, but I got an error message, & I didn't have the time to investigate I just canceled the upgrading process I was planning to do it.

Today I took version 3.8.2 but when started to install it on my local server which is xampp I got this error message:

You have PHP 5.3.0 installed with your xampp. There are known issues with that version that affect all versions prior to vB 3.8.4, and this is one of them. So try to install the latest version instead of 3.8.2, which should work.

what latest version, it happens even with the version 3.8.4
and I can't download version 4.0, even though I bought the pre-sale offer upgrade offer, but every time I hit the link to download it, it takes me to the old versions (i.e., versions 3.8.4 & less)

so what to do??

I took version 3.8.4 patch level 1, then the problem has disappeared, but when I tried to install one of vbadvanced products, the problem arose again, but in the vbadvanced pages, saying that same message & all of them in the vbulletin init.php file

the message I get in vbadvanced is the same as the previous message but with different lines' numbers for instance:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in C:\xampp\htdocs\vb\install\init.php on line 44

becomes:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in C:\xampp\htdocs\vb\[COLOR=Red]includes[/COLOR]\init.php on line 55

You wrote in your post you tried 3.8.2 when the deprecated error occured. I based my answer on your question

So obviously my answer was correct. The problem is solved with the newest version available.

That just means that the problems that vB had in previous versions with PHP 5.3.0 have not been fixed in vBAdvanced. To resolve this you obviously have to ask over at vBA's place. Or you can install an earlier PHP version than 5.3.0.
