  • Limiting email addresses by forum

    From my moderator:
I've noticed that there are a lot of single time or low post posters that all they do is post something in the line of: "Can you send me a transcription for <insert whatever tunes name here> at [email protected]" --See here, here, here and here for a few examples.

Although a number of them probably are genuine in their request, there are likely quite a number of them who are spammers fishing for email addresses. Allowing such posts to stay in the forum is, IMO encouraging spammers. For the genuine requests, there are safer ways than posting one's email like that.

    • I was wondering if there is a way to automatically disable email links in the Sheet Music & Transcriptions forum?
    • Are there other ways that we can prevent this from happening?
    Is this possible?

What if you put ".com" ".uk" etc in the naughty words list?

Of course it would affect all forums and it would still be recognizable.

If you wanted to spend some time, add "@gmail.com", "@hotmail.com" etc to the filtered words.
