    I have a distibuted server solution: Apache and vBulletin on one and mySQL on another server.
    This typically will take place once a day and on a certain (same) time.
    Otherwsie the system is working to my satisfaction.

    There is a breif moment when your SQL Server is not responding to requests, could be for a number of reasons, you may want to contact your host if it continues to happen, otherwise it can happen from time to time.

      I took a look of etc/crontab file:
      01 05 * * * root /etc/init.d/mysql restart >> /var/log/cronlog 2>&1
      This explains why the mySQL is not responding at that point of time.
      My question is: Is there a reason restart mySQL every day.
