Promotions Help Please

Hi Everyone!

Ive searched the forums for a while now and cant see anything that applies to what Im trying to do. Its really quite simple though.

I recently had to build a forum of 2+ years from scratch, due to some serious loss of data and security issues on the server.

I had this set up and running perfectly before, but cant get it to work now, as I cant remember what settings I used! Ive set it up a few different ways...but it keeps allowing people in who should not be.

I want to set up some promotions based ONLY on post count + date joined. We dont use reputation, so everyone is sitting at the default of (10?).

Which Promotion Strategy do I need to set it to to only count those 2 conditions (both conditions need to be met for eg: they need to have been a member for at least 30 days and have at least 50 posts).

Thanks Callie, unfortunately this doesn't help, as I know how to add a promotion and I understand all the different areas like what days registered etc actually mean.

What Im having trouble with is which promotion strategy to use from the drop down menu, as when it think i have chosen the right one, it keeps using the reputation as a criteria, but we don't use reputation and only want the strategy to use post count + days registered.

We use posts only, but have you tried this:

Posts = (Number of posts you want)
Days Registered = (Number of days you want)
Reputation = 0

Use the evaluation option = Posts and Reputation and Date

If the reputation is 0, then it sort of ignores it since everyone should be equal to 0 or more anyway. Thus, it only checks days and posts at that point.

That's my best guess, if you haven't tried this method yet.

Thanks ENF! I just came here to post this! As its what I used, and its all working well. So I always like to leave the result for future information seekers

The only difference I made was the set the reputation to 10, as that is the default that every member has when VB is installed. Even through I have 'use reputation' set to 'no' on options, it still picks up on what everyone has theirs set to.
