Image Varification

Hey,

On the forum Human Varification does not work, it is enabled and working in the admin panel (the preview) it generates the right image and all that just it doesnt display when you sign up. I added a different image varification instead of this because it wasnt working but it doesnt stop anything?

Image verification (aka captcha) is ineffective. I suggest using Question & Answer which works very well.

Trouble is, there isnt even a varification mehtod displaying? its just the general box users fill in, and no human barification method no matter what i pick...

There are several issues with all captcha's. The primary one is that they have been broke. What I mean is that there are programs that can read the captcha and those captcha's are completely ineffective. Some claim that reCaptcha is effective, but I have have my doubts.

The other thing about the captcha is that they are difficult to use. Most people simply can't stand them and will click away in frustration.

The Question & Answer system is easy to use and very effective. Give it a try.

Perhaps a plugin or template modification is causing this.

Try to disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates.

After disabling the plugins and using a default style, try re-uploading the register.php file.

It looks like you have it turned off.

First set this:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Human Verification Manager -> Image Verification -> Image Verification Options

If GD and ImageMagick are installed you will see images for them. If there are no images there, these are either not installed or you have the wrong path for IM.

And did you turn on Image Verification:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Human Verification Options -> Registration (checked)

And finally, make sure that the Unregistered usergroup has this set:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup (Unregistered) -> Require Human Verification on Configured Actions -> Yes

It was the Uregistered Usergroup, Require Human Verification on Configured Actions was off
