    Customizing Mod's access to forums?

Hello, I have several Moderators on my board and some forums they need to see and others are to remain private.

How can I fine tune forums so only certain Mods can view? I did the drop down screen earlier where you can assign a Mod and they still go where they are not allowed.

    Please help me out, thanks.

You can use Access Masks to allow them into, or deny them access to, certain forums. Access Masks

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      Thanks Lynne.

But these are the password forums and nothing (masks) is coming up for these specific forums.

Can you please advise me? Thanks.

Do you have Access masks enabled? vboptions > general settings > enable access masks.

So you have a forum and you have Forum Permissions set so moderators can see it. Then you set a Password for the forum and only gave it to some moderators, but all of them can still see the forum - correct? So then you tried using Access Masks to deny access to some moderators, but after you denied them access, they can still see the forum?

              Close.

I have 3 Mods and I want to keep 2 of them out of the one forum. So I had to make the 3 Mod a Super Mod.

I would just like to be able to customize it to keep the two of them out.

Lynne- Since you are in CA too, can I please call you or you call me? I will PM you my #.

              Thanks

So, you have 3 mods and you want 1 out of the 3 to have access to that. I think there is a solution to that.

Go to Admin CP > Users > Search For Users > Type in the username in the box provided and then on the drop list (Quick User Links), select Edit Forum Permission (Access Mask). Hopefully, this is what you're looking into.

Thanks guys, I just figured it out last night. vBulletin is so easy, but rough for the average non IT person at first.

                  Thanks!!!!!

                    Thanks.

Sometimes it's so basic and simple, that it would escape even the ones who think they "knew it all".
